Tune out, turn off

Much to the horror of my older two, I’m doing this next week.
But I bet they’ll be fine after the initial shock wears off. The horror, I’m sure, will be mine, when the best parenting crutch ever television goes dark for seven days.
So who’s planning to do the same? Let me know and we can document all the fun together!

I’m with you! Our kids can moan and groan together, but hopefully they’ll enjoy it, too. I’m sure they’d never admit it, though (at least not mine).
Exactly!
un-american i say. to need a day to do this is ridiculous. what another valentines day?
either you limit tv time or you dont. Its like smoking.
I’m not up for the NO TV WEEK, but here is a low cost activity to entertain you and the kids when you are pulling your hair out (I anticipate this will occur on day 2).
My kids enjoyed this….. gather pine cones from outside, spread peanut butter on them and then roll in bird feed. Hang on tree outside and wait for birds to show up. Added bonus, my fussy eater easily ate 4 Tbsp of peanut butter while we did this (and hopefully the bird food didn’t hurt him either). Anyway—- just thought I’d send an idea. You’ll need them!!!!!!
Thanks Lisa! I will need all the help I can get. The kids will love this, especially if it induces this beautiful cardinal we saw the other day to come back.
We got rid of our t.v. years ago and we’re still surviving!
My children love reading and imaginative play.
I’m all for turning off the tv!
